Drop The Ball Obliterates Sophomore Filly Pacers in Elim

TORONTO, ON— Drop The Ball drew away from this field and won in 1:49, a track and Canadian record. Monkey On My Wheel finished second, Idyllic was third, Swinging Beauty was fourth and Strike An Attitude was fifth.

Idyllic left for the lead, with Monkey On My Wheel in second and Strike An Attitude in third. Idyllic took them by the quarter in :27. There was no change in order until the half. Drop The Ball came first over from fourth and moved to third at the half in :55.1 (:28.1).

Drop The Ball cleared the lead around the far turn. Strike An Attitude was first over in second and Idyllic was at the rail in third. Monkey On My Wheel was second over in fourth. Drop The Ball took them by three-quarters in 1:22 (:26.4).

Drop The Ball was gone from this field at the top of the stretch. She won with ease, with Monkey On My Wheel finishing second, Idyllic finished third, Swinging Beauty was fourth and Strike An Attitude was fifth.

Drop The Ball is by Western Terror out of the mare Mattcheck Girl by Matts Scooter. She has earned $376,811 in her lifetime. She is owned by the Let It Ride Stables Inc., Dana Parham and Robert Cooper Stables LLC. She is bred by Perfect World Enterprises. She is trained by Tony O’Sullivan and Yannick Gingras was in the bike.

“She is very sharp, he said she was very aggressive, but once he moved her, she was fine, when she gets her trip, she is fine.” Tony O’Sullivan said. “He [Alsace Hanover] seems good after his race at Lexington. If he races well, it will be a pretty good night.” He added, talking about his other horse, Alsace Hanover.
