Chapter Seven is Written Down in History in Colt Trot

TORONTO, ON— Chapter Seven won the $610,000 Breeders Crown Three-Year-Old Colt Trot in 1:53, paying $4.90 to win. Broad Bahn finished second, Daylon Magician was third and Dejarmbro finished fourth.

Broad Bahn left for the lead, with Manofmanymissions sitting in second and Spectator K in third. Broad Bahn took them by the quarter in :27.4.

Broad Bahn had the lead down the backstretch. Manofmanymissions came first over and cleared the lead at the half in :56.4 (:29). Daylon Magician came first over in third and Chapter Seven was second over in fourth. Spectator K was shuffled back into fifth.

Manofmanymissions had the lead at three-quarters in 1:24.3 (:27.4). He broke immediately coming into the stretch. Broad Bahn inherited the top, with Daylon Magician to his outside and Chapter Seven coming off cover. He immediately drew away by about 12 lengths and Chapter Seven won. Broad Bahn finished second, Daylon Magician was third and Dejarmbro finished fourth.

Chapter Seven is a three-year-old colt by Windsong’s Legacy out of the mare La Riviera Lindy by Dream Vacation. He has earned $341,703 in 2011. He is bred by Richard Banca. He is owned by Rich Gutnik, Garry Cocco, Southwind Farms and Jerry Silva. She is trained by Linda Toscano and Jeff Gregory was in the sulky.

“I got to start him off as a two-year-old now I get to finish him off as a three-year-old. I believe he had more [energy] left.” Jeff Gregory said.

“He came into this race as good as a horse could be.” Linda Toscano said.
