Chapter Seven Dominates First Sophomore Elim

TORONTO, ON— Chapter Seven glided past rivals to win the first sophomore colt trot elimination at Woodbine Racetrack on Saturday, October 22. Daylon Magician was second, Dejarmbro was third, Spectator K was fourth and For You Almostfree was fifth. These five proceed to next week’s final.

Haulin Laser was far back before the start. Dejarmbro went for the top, with Chapter Seven in second and Spectator K pulling into third. For You Almostfree went on a break and quickly regained stride. Dejarmbro took the field by the quarter in :28.

The field stayed in perfect alignment at the half in :57.3 (:29.3). Around the far turn, Daylon Magician came first over and applied pressure to Dejarmbro. “Seven” was stalking them in third. Dejarmbro and “Magician” went by three-quarters in 1:26.1 (:28.3).

Dejarmbro and Magician were on full gear at the top of the stretch. Seven was circling out three wide and coming on with plenty of rally. “Almostfree” and “Spectator” were both fading back. It was Seven who got up at the wire to win by ½ length. Daylon Magician was second, Dejarmbro was third, Spectator K was fourth and For You Almostfree was fifth.

Chapter Seven is by Windsong’s Legacy out of the mare La Riviera Lindy by Dream Vacation. He has earned $540,549 in his lifetime. He is owned by Richard Gutnik, Gary Cocco, Southwind Farms and Jerry Silva. He is bred by Richard Banca, trained by Linda Toscano and driven by Tim Tetrick.

“It’s been a tough hall, we’ve been plagued with sickness and lameness.” Trainer Linda Toscano said. “The whole team knew he was a really good horse. He is the lightest raced horse in the division by the looks of it. His lungs and his finishes have been his best attribute, even when he’s not at his best. He seemed fresh coming into this.” she added.
