Anndrovette Speeds Home in Mare Pace ‘Crown’ Elim

TORONTO, ON— Anndrovette blew away from this field to win the mare pace Breeders Crown elimination at Woodbine Racetrack on Saturday, October 22. Maureen Rocks finished second, On The Glass was third, Western Silk was fourth and Blissful Smile was fifth. Dreamfair Eternal and Voelz Hanover do not go to next week’s final.

Rock N Soul left the gate fast, with Voelz Hanover in second and Maureen Rocks sat third. Rock N Soul went by the quarter in :26.1. Anndrovette came first over from fourth and took the lead from Rock N Soul heading to the backstretch.

Anndrovette strolled by the half in :55.2 (:29.1). Rock N Soul was in the pocket second and Maureen Rocks came first over in third. Voelz Hanover was buried at the inside in fourth. Anndrovette and Maureen Rocks dueled to three-quarters in 1:23.1 (:27.4). Rock N Soul was in third and On The Glass was second over in fourth.

Anndrovette drew clear from Maureen Rocks in the stretch and won in 1:50.2. Maureen Rocks was second, On The Glass was third, Western Silk was fourth and Blissful Smile was fifth.

Anndrovette is by Riverboat King out of the mare Easy Miss by Big Towner. She has earned $1,153,687. She is owned Jeffrey Bamond and Joe Davino and she is bred by Golden Touch Stable. She is trained by Mark Kesmodel and Tim Tetrick was in the bike.

“I really didn’t have a game plan. I just wanted to give her a good race for next week’s final. She can go forever, she never seems to get tired.” Driver Tim Tetrick said. “I’ll see how the race [the final] folds up, she keeps showing up every week and I’m pleased with her.”

Race five featured the open pacers who are entered in the Breeders Crown Open Pace. Foiled Again won, with St Elmo Hero finishing second, Aracache Hanover was third and Bettor Sweet finished fourth.
