TRI’s Picks January 4 Meadowlands

Meadowlands Racetrack Pick 4, Races 7-10, Friday, January 4, 2013

Last night, we had one winner that was not a bet, Ccs Lover N ($3.80). Tonight’s ticket is a little cheaper than last nights and is filled with value plays. Remember to bet horses that are 4-1 or up approaching post time. Good luck!

$2 Play: 1,4/4/3,5/2 = $8

Analysis:

Race 7- (1) Lucky Roll is shipping in from Harrah’s Philadelphia, where he raced against the top company and did fairly well. He’ll likely leave for a pocket spot since he has the rail and will look for room to trot into the stretch. (4) Don’t Know Chip is coming off of a tough mile against this company last week. He made a first over move entering the far turn and took a short lead in the middle of the stretch until All About Justice snuck up the rail and pulled off the major upset. He should be fresh as he races for the second time off of his layoff and I expect a victory from him tonight.

Race 8-
(4) Hot List has worked her way up the class chain at Yonkers and won against non-winners of $25,000 last six in her last start at Yonkers before romping at Saratoga in an optional claimer. She shows a ton of gate speed and should be able to take this field gate to wire this week.

Race 9-
(3) Sea Raven is coming off of an impressive effort against this company, where he was locked at the pylons and stormed down the center of the racetrack in an attempt to catch The Budster strolling to the finish. That was in a race where there was no pace, whatsoever. There will be some kind of pace tonight and Sea Raven will likely sit mid-pack and pull the same move he did last week, except could emerge victorious. (5) Zooming also is a good closer that is shipping in from Yonkers. Before he drew the outside posts at Yonkers, he did really well against the top company; challenging the leaders and closing from mid-pack. He will likely be in the same spot as Sea Raven, but will try to go second or first over to win this event.

Race 10- (2) Heres My Ticket showed a ton of speed last week. She was caught first over through a :26.3 opening quarter and was forced to drop into a pocket. Burnt out from a blistering first quarter, she quit and faded to fifth. Since there is not a ton of speed from the inside, she should get the top easily and slower than last time. She can save her speed and storm for home at the three-quarters.
