TRI’s Picks January 18 Meadowlands

Meadowlands Racetrack Pick 4, Races 7-10, Friday, January 18, 2013

We return with our Pick 4 after a week off for rest and other business to attend. We are confident about tonight’s ticket and remind you to play any horse on this ticket that is 4-1 or up. Good luck!

$2 Play: 3,8/1,2/5/6 = $8

Analysis:

Race 7-
(3) Photo King is returning off of a brief layoff. He worked hard from post 10 and took the lead from the quarter. That strong move made him quit and he faltered at the end of the mile. He gets post relief tonight and should try to take the lead or sit the pocket. (8) Tac’s Delight is the classiest horse in the field. He’s done very well against Open class horses at Harrah’s Philadelphia and Saratoga. Although he draws post 8, he should sit off the pace and close late in the mile.

Race 8- (1) Miss Sand Creek gets post relief this week. She was caught first over for the entire mile last week on the slop. Tonight’s track looks to be fast and since she draws the rail, she should be close to the pace and be able to make a late move to win. (2) Dragon Princess is the likely favorite and one to beat in here. Drawing the second-tier in her last start, she followed cover the entire mile and closed to finish second against a 12-horse field. Post 2 makes her a threat as she will sit closer to the pace and won’t have to recover as much ground as she had to a few weeks ago.

Race 9-
(5) My Leap Of Faith is stepping up after an impressive win last week in the slop. He should get off the gate faster this week and will have less ground to make up, giving him a better chance of winning.

Race 10- (6) Memumsnotnice is fast off the gate. She will likely get away second or third in the pocket, which is the trip a horse needs in a 12-horse field. As long as she doesn’t sprint by the quarter in sub-:27, she should have something left for the stretch drive.
