Dapper Dude Strolls Home to Win Adios Consolation

WASHINGTON, PA— Dapper Dude held off a late bid from Ezpass Hanover to win the 46th Delvin Miller Adios Consolation in 1:50.4. Ezpass Hanover was second, Bakin On The Beach third and Mc Attaboy finished fourth.

Star Recruit set the pace into the first turn. Mc Attaboy sat second and E Z Noah was in third. Star Recruit took them by the quarter in :27.1. Campbell pulled on the right lines and brought Dapper Dude first over and cleared the lead by the three-eighths. Dapper Dude paced the half in :54.1 (:27).

Bakin On The Beach came first over and challenged Dapper Dude at three-quarters in 1:21.3 (:27.2). Star Recruit was locked at the cones and Ezpass Hanover fanned off cover with E Z Noah.

Into the stretch, Dapper Dude had a 2 length advantage as E Z Noah went off stride. Ezpass Hanover was closing hard on the far outside. But Dapper Dude had a little more left in the tank to win the Adios Consolation in 1:50.4 (:29.1).

Dapper Dude is a three-year-old colt pacer by The Panderosa out of the mare Dress To Suggest by Camluck. He is owned by Bob and Al McIntosh, trained by Bob McIntosh and was driven to victory by John Campbell.

“He raced well today, I think he was a little sharper in the elimination last week, but he raced well today. I asked for him pretty hard and he responded when I needed him the most,” John Campbell said about Dapper Dude.
