A Rocknroll Dance Mambos to Winner’s Circle in Governor’s Cup

CHESTER, PA— A Rocknroll Dance easily won the 22nd edition of the $510,000 Governor’s Cup in 1:51 at Harrah’s Chester on Sunday, November 13. Speed Again finished second, Escape The News was third and Mybrothergeorge finished fourth.

Mybrothergeorge, Speed Again, Escape The News, A Rocknroll Dance and Dynamic Youth all left the gate with speed heading into the first turn. A Rocknroll Dance took the lead, with Speed Again in second, Mybrothergeorge in third and Escape The News was in fourth. A Rocknroll Dance took the field by the quarter in :26.3.

Mortal Zin came first over approaching the half. He flushed out Escape The News at the half in :55.4 (:29.1). A Rocknroll Dance had the lead down the backstretch. Speed Again was in second and Mybrothergeorge was in third. Escape The News was progressing first over in fourth. A Rocknroll Dance lead the way at three-quarters in 1:23.3. (:27.4).

A Rocknroll Dance lead the way into the stretch. Speed Again was trying to come on in second and Escape The News was giving chase in third. A Rocknroll Dance was home free and he won. Speed Again finished second, Escape The News was third and A Rocknroll Dance finished fourth.

A Rocknroll Dance is a two-year-old colt by Rocknroll Hanover out of the mare Wichita Hanover by Cam’s Card Shark. He has earned $608,325 in his lifetime. He is owned by Jim Mulinix, D. Miller, Jerry and Theresa Silva, trained by Jim Mulinix and Yannick Gingras was in the bike to win the Governor’s Cup in 1:51.
