'Stephen' Suffers Severe Career Injury

The two-year-old Dan Patch winner Pastor Stephen suffered a bad injury after his effort in the Canadian Trotting Classic elimination. It is a season ending and possibly a career ending injury.

“Pastor’s” trainer Jimmy Takter said on Sunday night that Pastor was diagnosed with a broken coffin bone. He made a break and finished last in his elimination.

Pastor went off as the 7-2 third choice in his elimination. The week before, he dazzled the public in a 1:52.4 victory in the Simcoe. After that Performance, Takter thought that Pastor was getting his act together.

The Dan Patch winner currently has career earnings that surpass $1-million. He has visited the winners circle 10 times, finished second six times and third twice out of 22 lifetime starts. Pastor is by Cantab Hall out of the mare Gala Lavec. He is owned by Christina Takter, John Fielding and Brittany Farms. Trained by Jimmy Takter and Ron Pierce has drove Pastor throughout his three-year-old season.
