Half-mile Hambo Dreams

On Saturday, July 9, seven “Oaks” hopefuls and seven Hambo eligibles will square off in the $237,414 Hudson Filly Trot and the $445,474 Yonkers Trot, respectively, at Yonkers. Trotters will also battle in the $66,700 Scott Frost W.N. Reynolds at Pocono.

In the “Hudson,” Jezzy (Credit Winner) will be the likely favorite. The other eligibles are Angelette Hanover (Yankee Glide), Lady Rainbow (Muscles Yankee), Crème De Cocoa (Chocolatier), Thatsnotmyname (Windsong’s Legacy), Iron Lady (Taurus Dream) and Cabaret Princess (Yankee Glide).

The only other horse in here that has a chance against Jezzy is Crème De Cocoa. “Crème” got her groove back in a conditioned event at the Meadowlands and is trying the half-mile for the first time.

In the Yonkers Trot, Leader Of The Gang (Muscles Yankee) will be the likely favorite. The other eligibles are Pegasus Blue Chip (Glidemaster), Live Jazz (Andover Hall), Del Cielo (Broadway Hall), Celebrity Bombay (Yankee Glide), Evil Urges (Cash Hall) and Bambino Hall (Tom Ridge).

The outsider in this field is Pegasus Blue Chip. He is coming off a win at Flamboro and may be ready to take on these trotters.

In the “Reynolds,” there are 10 eligibles. In the first division, they are Opening Night (Broadway Hall), Big Rigs (Andover Hall), Swan In A Million (Andover Hall) and Matrix (Yankee Glide). In the second division, they are Magnum Kosmos (SJ’s Caviar), Buffalino Hanover (Cantab Hall), Cologio (Tagliabue), Not Nice (Glidemaster), The Evictor (Valley Victor) and Big Sky Storm (Classic Photo).
