Economy Terror Shines in Three Diamonds

CHESTER, PA— Economy Terror shows she is the best of the freshmen filly pacers in the $380,000 Three Diamonds at Harrah’s Chester on Sunday, November 13. Handsoffmycookie finished second, Pirouette Hanover was third and Shelliscape finished fourth.

Pirouette Hanover and Economy Terror both blasted out of the gate heading into the first turn. Pirouette Hanover cleared, with Economy Terror in second and Shelliscape was in third. Pirouette Hanover took the field by the quarter in :27.

Economy Terror came first over as they went down the stretch. She cleared heading to the clubhouse turn. Pirouette Hanover gave way in second and Shelliscape remained in third. Robin Cruiser came first over at the half in :56.1 (:29.1) from the back of the field.

Robin Cruiser flushed out Handsoffmycookie down the backstretch. Economy Terror still had the lead, with Pirouette Hanover staying with her in second. Handsoffmycookie came right next to Economy Terror at three-quarters in 1:23.1 (:27).

Economy Terror had the lead in the stretch. Handsoffmycookie was giving it all she had on the outside in second and Pirouette Hanover came up the passing lane in third. But Economy Terror was too good and she went on to win. Handsoffmycookie finished second, Pirouette Hanover was third and Shelliscape finished fourth.

Economy Terror is a two-year-old filly by Western Terror out of the mare Mattatonic by Matt’s Scooter. She has earned $736,520 in her lifetime. She is owned by Chuck Pompey, Howard Taylor and Edwin Gold, trained by Chris Oakes and Brian Sears was in the sulky to win in 1:50.3, a track record.
