Victory is ‘Sweet’ for Bettor Sweet in Final ‘Crown’ on the Night

TORONTO, ON— Bettor Sweet won the $500,000 Breeders Crown Open Pace in 1:48.4. Foiled Again finished second, We Will See was third and Atochia finished fourth.

Dial Or Nodial, Alexie Mattosie, Bettor Sweet and We Will See all left the wings of the gate with speed. Dial Or Nodial took the lead and took the field by the quarter in :25.4. Alexie Mattosie was first over in second and Bettor Sweet was in third.

Alexie Mattosie cleared the lead down the backstretch, with Dial Or Nodial sitting in second and Bettor Sweet third. Bettor Sweet came out of the pocket and supplied cover to We Will See and Foiled Again at the half in :53.3 (:27.4).

Bettor Sweet took the lead around the far turn. Alexie Mattosie was at the rail in second and and We Will See was second over in third. Dial Or Nodial was shuffled into fourth. Bettor Sweet took the field by three-quarters in 1:21.4 (:28.1).

Bettor Sweet had the lead in the stretch. Foiled Again and We Will See came off cover and approached Bettor Sweet. Foiled Again and We Will See were neck and neck coming after Bettor Sweet approaching the wire. But Bettor Sweet was dead game and he held on to win. Foiled Again finished second, We Will See was third and Atochia came from the back of the field to finish fourth.

San Pail Defeats World Class Horses in ‘Crown’

TORONTO, ON— San Pail won the $600,000 Breeders Crown Open Trot in 1:51.4. Rapide Label finished second, Commander Crowe was third and Hot Shot Blue Chip finished fourth.

Define The World and Arch Madness left the gate with speed. Define The World  cleared, with Arch Madness sitting in second. Rapide Label was three wide in third and San Pail was two wide in fourth. Define The World went by the quarter in :26.2. Arch Madness was in second and Rapide Label was in third.

San Pail cleared the lead down the backstretch, with Define The World in second and Rapide Label first over in third. San Pail lead the field by the half in :54.4 (:28.2). San Pail had the lead around the far turn, with Rapide Label moving into second and Define The World shuffled to third. Commander Crowe followed Rapide Label second over in fourth. San Pail took the field by three-quarters in 1:23.1 (:28.2).

San Pail had the lead into the stretch. Rapide Label and Commander Crowe were giving chase on the outside and Lucky Jim was on a break. San Pail was the winner. Rapide Label finished second, Commander Crowe was third and Hot Shot Blue Chip was fourth.

“Well good horses you can do that they make you look good. He’s just an unbelievable horse. But I have to give full credit to Rod, his crew, the Hughses’ and Mr. Van Camp.  Rod does so much good by this horse.  Seems like he has him at his very best when it counts and he’s just an unbelievable horse. l  was moving into the first turn and I was more than willing to sit third, I settled with him before but when I saw Rapide Lebel starting to come I changed my mind and kept him 3 wide as long as I could. I just didn’t want to give up the position.  At this track it is so important to have position, you have got to be up near the front.  I honestly think that if I had stayed where I was and the other horse had gotten to the front I don’t think I would have beat him, they both raced unbelievable, they are truly champion horses, those 2 French horses (one being Swedish).  They are just unbelievable, it was a great experience to race against them. I’m glad that I beat them but they didn’t lose any races tonight. They just raced unbelievable. What a rush.” Driver Randy Waples said.

Betterthancheddar Wins ‘Crown’ within a Hearbeat

TORONTO, ON— Betterthancheddar won the $500,000 Breeders Crown Three-Year-Old Colt Pace in 1:49.2, paying $11 to win. Roll With Joe finished second, Alsace Hanover was third and Up The Credit finished fourth.

Betterthancheddar, Hugadragon, Roll With Joe and Big Bad John all left the gate with speed. Big Bad John was three wide and moved two wide to duel with Roll With Joe for command. Roll With Joe lead the field by the quarter in :26. Betterthancheddar was in third and Hugadragon was in fourth.

Big Bad John cleared the front down the backstretch, with Roll With Joe in second and Betterthancheddar was in third. Westwardho Hanover came first over and moved to third at the half in :53.4 (:27.4). Big Bad John had the lead around the far turn. Westwardho Hanover applied pressure in second and Roll With Joe came second over. Alsace Hanover came off cover at three-quarters in 1:21.2 (:27.3).

Big Bad John had a wall of horses behind him at the top of the stretch. Westwardho Hanover was to his outside. Alsace Hanover was three wide and Betterthancheddar was riding the pylons with Roll With Joe. Big Bad John gave way, so Roll With Joe took the lead approaching the wire. Betterthancheddar lunged up the inside to get his nose up to win. Roll With Joe finished second, Alsace Hanover was third and Up The Credit finished fourth.

Cedar Dove Flies Away From Field in ‘Crown’

TORONTO, ON—Cedar Dove won the $500,000 Breeders Crown Three-Year-Old Filly Trot in 1:53.3, a stakes record, paying $3.30 to win. Crys Dream finished second, Oh Sweet Baby was third and Pantholops finished fourth.

Jezzy was alert and left the gate fast. Oh Sweet Baby sat in second and Cedar Dove was in third. Jezzy took them by the quarter in :27.1. Cedar Dove came first over in the backstretch and cleared the lead approaching the half. Jezzy pulled into second ad Oh Sweet Baby was in third. Lady Andover was first over in fourth. Cedar Dove took them by the half in :57 (:29.4).

Around the far turn, Cedar Dove had the lead, with pressure from Lady Andover in second and Crys Dream following Lady Andover. Cedar Dove took them by three-quarters in 1:25.3 (:28.3). Cedar Dove drew off in the stretch. Crys Dream came off cover and was closing in second, Oh Sweet Baby was holding on for third and Pantholops closed from the back of the field to get up for fourth. Cedar Dove won, with Crys Dream finishing second, Oh Sweet Baby was third and Pantholops was fourth.

Chapter Seven is Written Down in History in Colt Trot

TORONTO, ON— Chapter Seven won the $610,000 Breeders Crown Three-Year-Old Colt Trot in 1:53, paying $4.90 to win. Broad Bahn finished second, Daylon Magician was third and Dejarmbro finished fourth.

Broad Bahn left for the lead, with Manofmanymissions sitting in second and Spectator K in third. Broad Bahn took them by the quarter in :27.4.

Broad Bahn had the lead down the backstretch. Manofmanymissions came first over and cleared the lead at the half in :56.4 (:29). Daylon Magician came first over in third and Chapter Seven was second over in fourth. Spectator K was shuffled back into fifth.

Manofmanymissions had the lead at three-quarters in 1:24.3 (:27.4). He broke immediately coming into the stretch. Broad Bahn inherited the top, with Daylon Magician to his outside and Chapter Seven coming off cover. He immediately drew away by about 12 lengths and Chapter Seven won. Broad Bahn finished second, Daylon Magician was third and Dejarmbro finished fourth.

Chapter Seven is a three-year-old colt by Windsong’s Legacy out of the mare La Riviera Lindy by Dream Vacation. He has earned $341,703 in 2011. He is bred by Richard Banca. TORONTO, ON— Monkey On My Wheel won the $500,000 Breeders Crown Three-Year-Old Filly Pace in 1:49.3, a stakes record, returning $12.90 to win. Drop The Ball finished second, Foxy Lady was third and Rocklamation finished fourth.

Idyllic, Monkey On My Wheel and Foxy Lady all left the gate fast. Idyllic cleared the lead at the quarter in :25.4. Monkey On My Wheel was in second and Foxy Lady was in third.

There was no change in order at the half in :53.2 (:27.3). Drop The Ball came first over, supplying cover to Krispy Apple and Swinging Beauty. Monkey On My Wheel came first over around the far turn, Drop The Ball followed her and Idyllic was fading fast. Monkey On My Wheel took them by three-quarters in 1:21.1 (:27.4).

Monkey On My Wheel and Drop The Ball dueled in the stretch. Rocklamation was closing on the outside and Krispy Apple was closing in. But Monkey On My Wheel held off Drop The Ball to win. Foxy Lady finished third and Rocklamation finished fourth.

Anndrovette Wins Mare Pace in Fine Fashion

TORONTO, ON—Anndrovette won the $300,000 Breeders Crown Mare Pace in 1:49.2. Chancey Lady finished second, Blissful Smile was third and Maureen Rocks finished fourth.

Anndrovette left for the top, with Rock N Soul and Maureen Rocks sat in third. Anndrovette took them by the quarter in :26.1. Maureen Rocks came first over at the half, giving cover to Ginger And Fred. Anndrovette took them by the half in :54.2 (:28.1).

Anndrovette had the lead around the far turn. Maureen Rocks came right next to her in second and Rock N Soul gapped at the rail in third. Anndrovette lead the field at three-quarters in 1:21.3 (:27.1).

Anndrovette was long gone in the stretch. Chancey Lady and Ticket To Rock came from the back of the field closing hard. Maureen Rocks faded and Blissful Smile came up for third. Anndrovette won. Chancey Lady finished second, Blissful Smile was third and Maureen Rocks finished fourth.

Uncle Peter Surprises in ‘Crown’

TORONTO, ON—Uncle Peter won the $600,000 Breeders Crown Two-Year-Old Colt Trot in 1:55, paying $11.40 to win. Possess The Will finished second, Delano was third, Presdigitator was fourth and Royal Shyster was fifth.

Economy Terror Blows by Field to Win Third ‘Crown’ Event

TORONTO, ON— Economy Terror won the Breeders Crown Two-Year-Old Filly Trot in 1:51, a track and stakes record, paying $3.50 to win. Handsoffmycookie finished second, Pirouette Hanover finished third, Shelliscape finished fourth and Apogee Hanover finished fifth.

Podges Lady, Pirouette Hanover, Big Mcdeal and Marty Party all left the gate with speed. Podges Lady cleared heading to the quarter. Big Mcdeal sat in second and Pirouette Hanover sat in third. Podges Lady took them by the quarter in :26.2.

Big Mcdeal came first over at the three-eighths and cleared the lead approaching the half. Podges Lady was in the pocket second and Pirouette Hanover came first over from third. Pirouette Hanover took the lead from Big Mcdeal at the half in :55 (:28.3).

Pirouette Hanover and Big Mcdeal dueled around the far turn, with Podges Lady in third and Marty Party was second over in fourth. Pirouette Hanover lead the field by three-quarters in 1:22.3 (:27.3).

Pirouette Hanover was starting to pass Big Mcdeal in the stretch. Handsoffmycookie and Economy Terror came from the back of the field and passed Pirouette Hanover, Big Mcdeal and Shelliscape. Economy Terror had a little more than Handsoffmycookie to win. Pirouette Hanover finished third, Shelliscape finished fourth and Apogee Hanover was fifth.

Economy Terror is a two-year-old filly by Western Terror out of the mare Mattatonic by Matts Scooter. She is bred by Vae LLC. She is owned by Chuck Pompey, Howard Taylor and Edwin Gold, trained by Christopher Oakes and Brian Sears was in the sulky to a 1:51 stake and track record performance.

“I’ve liked her from day one; she is a great horse. She’s getting bigger and stronger, nothing like a sharp filly when they’re on their game,” driver Brian Sears said.

“She is a real handful [around the barn]. We’ve been patient with her,” trainer Chris Oakes said.

Check Me Out Wins Easily in Second ‘Crown’ Event

TORONTO, ON— Check Me Out won the $600,000 Breeders Crown Two-Year-Old Filly Trot in 1:54.4, a stakes record, paying $2.90 to win. Win Missy B finished second, For A Dancer finished third, Miss Paris finished fourth and dfkdkf finished fifth.

Circles, For A Dancer, Win Missy B and Check Me Out all left the gate with speed. For A Dancer cleared heading to the first turn, with Win Missy B first over in second and Check Me Out following in third. For A Dancer went by the quarter in :28.

Win Missy B cleared heading down the backstretch. Check Me Out came right next to her in second and she cleared the lead approaching the half. For A Dancer was in third and Uncommon Night progressed into fourth from the back of the field. Check Me Out took them by the half in :57.1 (:29.1).

Check Me Out was drawing away around the far turn. Win Missy B sat at the rail in second and For A Dancer was in third. Check Me Out lead the field by three-quarters in 1:26.4 (:29.3).

Check Me Out had a good lead into the stretch. Win Missy B was at the inside in second and For A Dancer was coming two-wide with rally. Miss Paris came off cover [from Uncommon Night] and moved into fourth, passing Circles. Check Me Out was clear and she won. Win Missy B finished second, For A Dancer was third, Miss Paris was fourth and Circles finished fifth.

Check Me Out is a two-year-old filly by Donato Hanover out of the mare Illusion Bi by Toss Out. She was bred by Az Agricola Biasuzzi SRL and Scuderia Gina Biasuzzi. She is owned by Ray Schnittker and Charles Iannazzo, trained by Ray Schnittker and Ron Pierce picked up the drive for Tim Tetrick, who unfortunately was stranded in New Jersey with George Brennan, Yannick Gingras and David Miller due to the Nor’easter.   

“We just floated out of the gate and we reached the top easy enough. She is a great filly; I didn’t have to ask her to go,” driver Ron Pierce said.  

“I was here in 2007 with Deweychetumnhowe and they said I will never have a good horse again,” co-owner Charles Iannazzo said.

Frenchfriesnvinegar Says “Bye” to Action-Broadway in Tight Finish

TORONTO, ON— Frenchfriesnvinegar won the $300,000 Breeders Crown Mare Trot in 1:53.3, paying $10.60. Action-Broadway finished second, Autumn Escapade finished third, Emmylou Who was fourth and Friendly Amigo was fifth.

Yursa Hanover, Emmylou Who, Autumn Escapade and Friendly Amigo all left the gate fast. Autumn Escapade was first over and moved into third at the quarter in :27. Autumn Escapade cleared the lead at the three-eighths. Action-Broadway came first over from fifth and was wheel to wheel with Friendly Amigo [in second] at the half. Action-Broadway cleared the lead at the half in :56.4 (:29.4).

Action-Broadway lead the way around the far turn. Frenchfriesnvinegar followed her and dueled with Action-Broadway coming to three-quarters in 1:24.4 (:28).

Action-Broadway had a narrow lead coming into the stretch. Frenchfriesnvinegar had rally and came closer and closer to Action-Broadway coming to the finish. Autumn Escapade sat behind them in third. Frenchfriesnvinegar was clear. She won, with Action-Broadway finishing second, Autumn Escapade was third, Emmylou Who was fourth and Friendly Amigo was fifth.

Frenchfriesnvinegar is a six-year-old mare by Angus Hall out of the mare Gugus by Fool Me Not. She has $201,240 this year and seven of 24 starts. She is bred by Big Al Stables Inc. and owned by David Smith. She is trained by Jeffrey Gillis and Jody Jamieson was in the bike to his second Breeders Crown victory in 1:53.3.   

“I obviously wasn’t expecting her to draw the 10 hole, but Jody gave him a perfect second over trip. She will not quit,” trainer Jeff Gillis said.

“We’ve rolled her every time we raced her [Frenchfriesnvinegar]. We thought she was one- dimensional [She races the same]. This mare just dug in and has been an overachiever all year,” driver Jody Jamieson said.  

Breeders Crown Brings Upsets to Mind

The Breeders Crown is the most prestigious set of races since its inauguration, 1984. This will be the second year that all 12 races are presented on one night. With many of the top horses in the division either gone from injury or retirement, this will be a Breeders Crown in the record books. Listed below are my picks for the Breeders Crown and a reason.

Mare Trot

9 Autumn Escapade- Without a doubt, she is the one to beat in this field. She has improved since her failed attempt of victory in the Armbro Flight. She may be a short price, but her post will likely scare bettors.

1 Kandor Hanover- Runner up to Action-Broadway in the Armbro Flight at Mohawk. She had just lost by a neck and has an upper hand, class wise.

Back Up Horse:

11 Miss Dangles- Gets the benefit of the draw with the second tier. She was runner up to Autumn Escapade in the Miss Versatility final at Delaware, Ohio. She has raced over this track several times and will need to get a position to be in the top four.

Two-Year-Old Filly Trot

5 Win Missy B- Will be dueling for division honors with Check Me Out in this event. She may be better than any horse in this field.

7 Miss Paris- Her pedigree is top class. She sat mid-pack in the elimination, not doing much. She may be a monster in the final.

10 Aunt Mel- She raced fantastic from post nine in her elimination, finishing third. She will have to leave the gate fast and sit mid-pack for a perfect trip. Her post will heighten her odds.

Back Up Horse:

9 For A Dancer- Stayed in New York for most of her two-year-old campaign. She shocked in the elimination and may do so this week.

Two-Year-Old Filly Pace

2 Handsoffmycookie- She is very underrated coming into the Breeders Crown. She has only lost once and that was in the Sweetheart in August. With her speed, she can go faster than everyone else.

3 Pirouette Hanover- Was thought to be better than “Cookie” after “Pirouette’s” victory in the Sweetheart. She has raced in Canada many times and has had no luck post wise. She will be dangerous tonight.

Back Up Horses:

6 Shelliscape- Knows the Canadian oval very well. She has raced against the top many times and will most likely be in the exotics.

9 Podges Lady- Tries her hardest every start. Knowing the Seekmans, they want her to get a perfect trip. With her post, this feat may be possible.

Two-Year-Old Colt Pace

2 Bettors Edge- He was a shocker in the elimination, running up to A Rocknroll Dance at 39-1. He will likely be bet and will be in the top three.

Longshot Play:

5 Hurrikane Kingcole- Had a troubled trip in his elimination. He was interfered and closed hard up the pylons in the stretch. He will be a major speed factor and may steal the race.

Back Up Horses:

7 Sing For Me George- Dueled in his elimination, but ended up finishing second to Sweet Lou. He will be heavily bet.

8 Speed Again- He is a local favorite that does super well in every start. He was interfered in his elimination and drew post 8. His performance from here is unpredictable.

Two-Year-Old Colt Trot

4 Possess The Will- Won his elimination in fine style. He will need to show that talent again tonight.

8 Royal Shyster- Made a great recovery after breaking. He will be underrated from his elimination and may bomb.

Back Up Horses:

7 Presdigitator- This guy making the final is as strange as watching the Mummy Rockettes. He will most likely finish on the board.

10 Delano- He draws in after From Above scratched sick from his elimination. He has proven how good he is when he stays flat. Post 10 for him on the other hand will be the challenge of his career.

Mare Pace

1 Maureen Rocks- She was aggressive in the elimination, but did not have enough to catch Anndrovette. She has post 5 and “Maureen” drew the rail, which is hopefully an advantage.

3 Chancey Lady- Did not race as she usually does in the elimination. She normally leaves for the top, but she stalked. If she goes for the front, she will be hard to beat.

Back Up Horses:

6 On The Glass- Has done better in Tony O’Sullivan’s barn than she did in Ron Burke’s barn. She is blossoming into the tough horse she was last year. She will be in the exotics.

8 Rock N Soul- I have been backing this horse since her gigantic upset in the Misltoe Shalee final last year (I gave her out, she finished second at 82-1, paying more than $90 to place and $130 to show). If she races like herself, she will be tough to beat.

Open Trot

3 Commander Crowe- Let’s face it, this guy and Rapide Label are the ones to beat in here. They didn’t come over here just to be in it, they are obviously the best.

5 Rapide Label- Look at Commander Crowe’s case.

Back Up Horses:

2 San Pail- He will obviously be runner up to these two horses. Unless he goes off stride, he will be on the board.

7 Lucky Jim- He has had problems all year, until Tetrick got aboard him. His breaking problem stopped and he has performed better in general.

Three-Year-Old Filly Pace

3 Rocklamation- She raced phenomenal in her elimination. If she stays a bit closer to the pace, she can easily beat Drop The Ball (Who is the fastest in the race).   

Back Up Horses:

6 Monkey On My Wheel- She has done well in Canada throughout her career. She has finished won and placed several times and will be a bomb if she does so tonight.

7 Swinging Beauty- Seems like she didn’t race at her full potential in the elimination. If this is so, she may race fantastic in the final.

3 Can Anyone Explain- He raced exceptionally in his elimination. He finished second in the International Sires Series at Lexington. He has a good post and will need to improve big to be in the top.

6 For You Almostfree- He barely made it to final as he broke at the start. If he gets a good trip, he will likely finish in the trifecta.

Three-Year-Old Filly Trot

7 Jezzy- She raced well in her elimination, but will have to do better in the final.

BOMBER OF THE NIGHT:

10 Pantholops- She made a gigantic recovery in her elimination to finish fifth. If she’s close enough to the pace, she will be the 2011 Southwind Serena.

Back Up Horses:

1 Lady Andover- She raced better than expected in her elimination. She gets an advantage with post 1 tonight.

3 Eagle Canada- The broken equipment she had at the finish may have affected her performance. If it didn’t, then I don’t know what to tell you.

2 Westwardho Hanover- He won his elimination by a narrow margin. He gets better every week and will be tough to beat in here.  

Longshot:

8 Fashion Delight- He could of done better in the elimination if he did not get interfered. If he gets a comfterable spot, he will blow out the pick four.

Back Up Horses:

10 Mystician- He will have to race from mid-pack as he will leave from post 10. If he gets cover, he will be dangerous.

Open Pace

7 Dial Or Nodial- Has been improving with every start. He will need a trip to finish on the board.

11 Aracache Hanover- Has the speed to blow away this field. If he gets the top, its game over.

Back Up Horses:

2 Foiled Again- Won the Open at Woodbine last week, beating other horses in the Breeders Crown. He has been a tough competitor all year and is sure to be one in the “Crown.”

5 Bettor Sweet- Starting to get his career back on track. He has been doing better than he has earlier this year. He is likely to finish in the exotics.

Betterthancheddar Closes Out Night of ‘Crown’ Eliminations

TORONTO, ON— Betterthancheddar passed Hugadragon to win the final Breeders Crown elimination of the night. Hugadragon was second, Big Bad John was third, Up The Credit was fourth and Fashion Delight was fifth.

Betterthancheddar left for the lead, with Hugadragon sitting in second and Prodigal Seelster was in third. Betterthancheddar took them by the quarter in :26.4.

Hugadragon came first over and cleared the lead down the backstetch. Fantaddy went on a break in the back of the field. Approaching the half, Wink N Atcha came first over, giving cover to Fashion Delight and Big Bad John. Hugadragon took them by the half in :55.2 (:28.3).

Around the far turn, Wink N Atcha went on a break, scrambling the field behind him. Hugadragon passed three-quarters in 1:22.1 (:26.4). Betterthancheddar circled to the outside in the stretch and took the lead at the eighth pole. Up The Credit was riding the pylons and Big Bad John had late rally. Betterthancheddar had the lead and went on to win in 1:49.1, a lifetime mark. Hugadragon finishing second, Big Bad John was third, Up The Credit was fourth and Fashion Delight was fifth.

Betterthancheddar is by Bettor’s Delight out of the mare Lady Ashleen Ann by Camtastic. He has earned $322,438 in his lifetime. He is owned by Steve Calhoun and West Wins Stable. He is bred by Winbak Farm. He is trained by Casie Coleman and George Brennan was in the bike.

“I had to do it [give him time off], after the Meadowlands Pace. I don’t know what happened,” trainer Casie Coleman said. “His attitutdes back, he’s sound and healthy. The less work you give him the better he does. So that’s our plan for this week” Casie Coleman added.

Westwardho Hanover Wins in Close Finish

TORONTO, ON— Westwardho Hanover narrowly held on to win the sophomore colt pace Breeders Crown elimination. Alsace Hanover finished second, Roll With Joe was third, Mystician was fourth and Oddyseus Bluechip was fifth. These five proceed to next week’s final.

Custard The Dragon went for the top, with Westwardho Hanover sitting in second and Roll With Joe parked on the outside in third. Rollwithitharry was at the rail in fourth. Custard The Dragon took them by the quarter in :26.1.

Roll With Joe cleared the lead by the half in :53.4 (:27.2). Custard The Dragon gave way into second and Westwardho Hanover came first over in third. Rollwithitharry was at the inside in fourth. Mystician came second over and Powerful Mist came third over.

Westwardho Hanover cleared the lead approaching three-quarters. Mystician was on the outside in second and Roll With Joe was at the rail in third. Powerful Mist was circling out three wide. Alsace Hanover was starting a rally in the back of the field. Westwardho Hanover took them by three-quarters in 1:21.4 (:28).

Westwardho Hanover lead the way into the stretch. Custard The Dragon and Rollwithitharry were fading at the inside. Powerful Mist was trying to close and Alsace Hanover was charging like a train down the middle of the racetrack. Roll With Joe was trying to get through at the inside, but it was Westwardho Hanover to win by ½ length. Alsace Hanover finished second, Roll With Joe finished third, Mystician finished fourth and Odysseus Bluechip was fifth.

Rocklamation Pulls Off the Mild Upset in Final Sophomore Filly Elim

TORONTO, ON— Rocklamation defeated the media crazed See You At Peelers in the final sophomore filly Breeders Crown elim. Krispy Apple was second, Foxy Lady was third, Tea Party Princess was fourth and Honky Tonk Woman was fifth. These five proceed to next week’s final.

Foxy Lady and Pretty Katherine both left the gate fast heading to the first turn. Honky Tonk Woman moved into third and See You At Peelers sat fourth. Foxy Lady took them by the quarter in :26.1. See You At Peelers immediately came first over and cleared the lead approaching the half.

See You At Peelers lead at the half in :54.4 (:28.3). Foxy Lady was at the rail in second and Pretty Katherine was third. Krispy Apple came first over, supplying cover to Tea Party Princess and Rocklamation.

Krispy Apple stuck her nose in front of See You At Peelers at three-quarters in 1:23.2 (:28.3). Krispy Apple drew away from the field at the top of the stretch. See You At Peelers was fading at the inside and Rocklamation was roaring down the middle of the track. Rocklamation passed Krispy Apple to win the elimination in 1:50.4. Foxy Lady finished third, Tea Party Princess was fourth and Honky Tonk Woman was fifth.

Rocklamation is by Rocknroll Hanover out of the mare Art Sale by Artsplace. She has earned $267,828 in her lifetime. She is owned by Stable 45 and bred by Peretti Farms. She is trained by Ron Burke and Brian Sears was in the bike.

“Shes not a real aggressive filly, we try to keep her calm until we pull the blinds.”  assistant trainer Mickey Burke Jr. said. “She just came coming and coming, I was thrilled with her. Shes starting to come around, starting to act like the filly we thought she would be.”
